"I held nothing back (kids were 10 and 14). I told them what I knew when I found it out. I tried to be as honest as I could while keeping as straightforward and age appropriate as I could."
– Jo, mother supporting two children who were bereaved in 2018 (aged 10 and 14 at the time)

When a parent dies by suicide it can be inconceivable to the child(ren). It's important that children of any age feel heard, acknowledged, validated, supported, and encouraged to talk about the loss of their parent in a compassionate, safe, and empathetic environment.
